International Seminar "Young 4 Soft Matter" 2023
On June 26-28, 2023, The International Seminar "Young4Soft Matter"_2nd Polish-Slovenian Edition, will be held online.
Directors: dr. hab. Aleksandra Drozd-Rzoska (IWC PAN, Poland) and prof. Samo Kralj (Univ. Maribor & Inst. Josef Stefan, Slovenia).
The International Seminar "Young4Softmatter" is intended for students, Ph.D. students, and young scientists to enable them presenting research results in area of Soft Matter physics, chemistry, material engineering, biology, food science and socio-economic issues.
Each participant of The International Seminar „Young4SoftMatter” will give 15-20 minutes lecture or present a poster.
We are pleased to inform that such personalities in the world of science as Professor Veronika Kralj-Iglič and Professor Rodolfo Baggio accepted our invitation for presenting, tutorial/plenary lectures during The International Seminar "Young4SoftMatter":
- Professor Veronika Kralj–Iglič, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, winner of special awards for outstanding scientific achievements. The Rector of the University of Ljubljana nominated Prof. V. Kralj-Iglič in 2018 and 2020 for the l'Oreal/UNESCO for Women in Science award in such fields as mathematics, physics, and computer science. Profesor Veronika Kralj-Iglič founded and coordinates research activities in the field of Bioengineering in Health Sciences (University of Ljubljana).
- Professor Rodolfo Baggio, Bocconi University in Milan, Italy, is a physicist. His word-recognized researche activities focuses on developing technology and information in the area of tourism and socio-economy. Profesor Rodolfo Baggio in 2017, received the Hannes Werthner Lifetime Achievement Award from IFITT (International Federation for Information Technology in Travel and Tourism). Profesor Rodolfo Baggio is a member of the Italian Physical Society and the Royal Geographical Society (UK).
The International Seminar "Young4SoftMatter" has a didactic and scientific character. Therefore, experienced and prominent physicists, additionally dealing with other fields of knowledge, will deliver intriguing and inspiring lectures:
- Prof. Veronika Kralj-Iglič (Slovenia) – the Special Guest - will inaugurate The International Seminar with a lecture entitled: "Membrame Curvature - Ancient Language of Crosstalk between Life Domains."
- Prof. Kazimierz Orzechowski (Poland) will open the second-day of The International Seminar with a lecture entitled: "NDE - why not?"
- Prof. Rodolfo Baggio (Italy) – the Special Guest _ will give a lecture on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, discussing problems on the borderline of socio-economics: “Tourism phenomena and systems: a physicist’s point of view.”
- Prof. Sylwester J. Rzoska (Poland) will close The International Seminar with a lecture entitled "The New Philosopher's Stone".
During the second day of The International Seminar "Young4Soft Matter"_2nd Polish-Slovenian Edition, the session, "Q&A” - Questions and Answers with the Scientific Council will take place. All participants will have the opportunity to meet & question the Scientific Councile members for interesting them Soft Matter issues.
