Czwartek, 04 Kwiecień 2024 14:21 |
Generally, the presence of impurity phases in a superconductor reduces its properties. Dr. Singh's research group (NL-6) has just published a new study in the Journal of Physics and Chemistry of Solids (Impact factor: 4.0) that shows the impact of impurities on high-Tc iron-based superconductors grown under ambient and applied pressure conditions. The conclusion of this research is that the high-pressure synthesis of the stoichiometric CaKFe4As4 (1144) superconductor increases the transition temperature (Tc) by 2K and the critical current density (Jc) by one order of magnitude in the whole magnetic field range of 9 T as compared to that of the 1144 bulks prepared by conventional synthesis method at ambient pressure (CSP). Moreover, the superconducting onset transition temperature of this stoichiometric CaKFe4As4 (1144) family is robust with the presence of the common 122 (CaFe2As2 or KFe2As2) impurity phases. This study is published by “Manasa Manasa, Mohammad Azam, Tatiana Zajarniuk, Ryszard Diduszko, Tomasz Cetner, Andrzej Morawski, Andrzej Wiśniewski, Shiv J. Singh” entitled “Effect of impurity phase and high-pressure synthesis on the superconducting properties of CaKFe4As4” DOI: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jpcs.2024.111996

What is SCAATTM? How can we increase the 4-inch GaN bulk crystal diameter if the Ni-based superalloys material properties cannot withstand higher pressures? Are 8-inch bulk GaN crystals a dream or reality? These questions will be adressed by Dr. Yuji Kagamitani from Mitsubishi Chemical in a talk on “Acidic Ammonothermal Growth of Bulk GaN” during next Unipress Thursday seminar. Join us online via Zoom platform on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 3:00 pm. The 9th International Conference on Superconductivity and Magnetism - ICSM2024 will take place in Turkey from April 27th to May 4th, 2024. Typically, this international conference gathers over 500 participants, making it a highly esteemed event within the superconducting community. This year dr Shiv J. Singh from our Institute, Laboratory of Superconductors, was invited to organize a session focused on iron-based superconductors. The session "Iron-based superconductors (IBS): Fundamental and applied research under ambient and applied pressures" will be composed of eight talks. More information can be found at https://icsmforever.org/scientific-program/co-organizers-and-confirmed-session-chairs/. Dr. Singh will also give an invited talk "Enhancement of transition temperature and critical current density of iron-based superconductors by high-pressure growth" at this conference. As demonstrated by dr Singh's current research, high-pressure growth is crucial in improving the superconducting properties of this high Tc superconductor. This talk will cover the optimization of pressure growth conditions, bulk sample quality, superconducting properties, and granular behavior of these families in relation to ambient and high-pressure synthesis processes. Dr. Singh’s two Ph.D. students, Manasa Manasa, and Mohammad Azam, will also present their work as posters.
8:30 do 9:15.
Wyniki opublikowano w pracy A. Drozd-Rzoska, J. Łoś, S.J. Rzoska, The dominance of pretransitional effects in the liquid crystal based nanocolloids: nematogenic MBBA with the transverse permanent dipole moment and BaTiO3 nanoparticles, Nanomaterials 2024, 14, 655 (Impact Factor: 5.3), która dostępna jest w modelu Open Access. Zmiany temperatury dla współczynnika tgδ (rozproszenia energii) dla częstotliwości f=12 Hz w MBBA i pokrewnych nanokoloidach z nanocząsteczkami BaTiO3. Ciągłe zielone i niebieskie krzywe dotyczą krytycznej parametryzacji empirycznej D(T)=tgδ=δ*+d(T-Tδ)+D(T-Tδ)Ѱ z wykładnikiem Ѱ≈4. Spotlight talk - prof. Eva Monroy
